Featured Artist of the Month for October 2016:
JANET GRANT

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, I have always been interested in drawing. As a child, I was able to take children's painting classes at the Toledo Museum of Art. I moved to Dearborn, Michigan, in 1973 and began taking classes at the Dearborn Arts & Crafts Studio with Betty Broglin. Although I consider myself as a self-taught artist, I have taken several classes in watercolor, drawing, and printmaking at Henry Ford Community College, including life drawing classes at the University of Michigan, Dearborn campus.

I joined The Artists' Society of Dearborn in 1980, and am also a member of the Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors.

I've displayed and sold my works at Michigan exhibitions at:
• The Padzieski Gallery, Ford Performing Arts Center, Dearborn
• The Rotunda Gallery, Henry Ford Centennial Library, Dearborn
• Beaumont (Oakwood) Hospital, Art for the Spirit program, Dearborn
• Fairlane Mansion, The Henry Ford Estate, Dearborn
• Knights of Columbus O'Kelley Council 3860 Lounge, Dearborn
• The Anton Art Gallery, Mount Clemens

Currently, I teach watercolor painting at The Henry Ford Village in Dearborn.
